Crispy Sweet Potato Fries

Something a little bit different. We pick the best sweet potatoes packed with sweet flavour, peel, cut and coat them in a tempura-style batter to make our Sweet Potato Fries really crispy.

Ingredients

Sweet Potato, Sunflower Oil, Batter (WHEAT Flour (Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Tapioca Dextrin, Rice Flour, Salt, Maize Starch, Raising Agents (E450, E500), Thickener (E415), Turmeric Extract, Colour (E160(c))).

How to Cook

The following cooking instructions are for 250g of McCain Sweet Potato Fries. For different quantities adjust the cooking time accordingly. For best results cook from frozen. DO NOT overcook!

OVEN

Preheat the oven to 220°C / 430°F / Gas Mark 7.
For fan assisted ovens that’s 210°C / 410°F.
Spread your Sweet Potato Fries evenly in a single layer onto a baking tray and pop it into the top of the oven.
Bake for 17 – 20 minutes, turning them every now and again, until they’re lovely, crisp and light golden.

GRILL

Remove the rack from the grill pan. Preheat the grill for five minutes at a medium high heat. Spread your Sweet Potato French Fries evenly in a single layer onto the grill pan.
Grill for 10 minutes, turning them every now and again, until they’re lovely, crisp and light golden.
