1. Important Stuff

   1. 1.1  The McCain Foods (GB) Ltd. 'Lucky Spuds' Promotion (the 'Promotion') is open to residents of the United Kingdom, aged 18 years or over, excluding employees and the immediate families of McCain Foods GB Ltd. (the "Promoter"), its agents or anyone professionally connected with the Prize Draw. No bulk or third party entries accepted.
   2. 1.2  By taking part in this Promotion, all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
   3. 1.3  A 'Lucky Spuds' promotional pack will be required to enter, and supplied to McCain as proof if you are a winner.
   4. 1.4  The promotion is available on promotional packs of Crinkle Cut Home Chips (1kg, 1.8kg), Crinkle Cut Oven Chips (907g, 1.8kg), Straight Cut Home Chips (1kg, 1.8kg), Straight Cut Oven Chips (907g, 1.8kg), Roast Potatoes (907g), Hash Browns (700g) and Rustic Chips (1kg). Available in selected stores whilst stocks last.
   5. 1.5  The Daily Prize Draw runs 09:00am to 11:59pm, Tuesday 17th April, and then 12:00am to 11:59pm, Wednesday 18th April to Sunday 10th June 2012 inclusive. Late entries will be accepted from Monday 11th June, closing on Friday 30th November 2012.
   6. 1.6  The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
   7. 1.7  Any dispute concerning these Terms and Conditions will be determined according to the laws of England and Wales and the Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.

2. How to Enter

   1. 2.1  To enter the 'Lucky Spuds' Prize Draw, you must have access to the internet and a Facebook account.
   2. 2.2  To play, each participant must:
      1. 2.2.1  Have purchased a 'Lucky Spuds' promotional pack.
      2. 2.2.2  Visit www.facebook.com/McCainUK
      3. 2.2.3  Login to Facebook or register for a free Facebook account
      4. 2.2.4  'Like' the McCain Facebook page to access the 'Lucky Spuds' Game
      5. 2.2.5  Create an account by entering their pack code (found on the back of promotional packs), full name, email address, home address, date of birth and contact phone number. Up to 5 codes can be entered per account.
         
         Consumers will be required to check a box before playing the game to confirm that they will be able to provide the pack featuring the code entered at registration if they win.
      6. 2.2.6  Click 'Play Game' to start the game. Click the potato plants on the game board to reveal either a 'Lucky' or 'Dud Spud'. The Game ends when all 10 'Lucky Spuds' have been found. 
      7. 2.2.7  Every gameplay completed will be entered into the daily prize draw for the chance to win £1,000. With all completed gameplays since the beginning of the competition (19th March) being entered into the £100,000 Grand Prize Draw. Only complete game plays will be included. Time of entry is the time when game play starts. 
   3. 2.3  A maximum of 5 entries can be made per person per day. Each additional entry will require a new promotional pack code to be registered.
   4. 2.4  If it becomes apparent that a participant is using a computer(s) to circumvent this condition by, for example, the use of 'script', brute force or any other automated means, or the manual creation of multiple Facebook accounts under alternative names or accounts that are not owned by that person, that person's entries will be disqualified and no prize will be awarded. Any entrant found or attempting to build software to circumvent the game, or anyone trying to gain an unfair advantage via any automated route, will be disqualified.
   5. 2.5  A maximum of one Facebook account per person can be used to enter this competition. McCain Foods (GB) Ltd. can demand proof of identity in the event of a dispute. In the event that a person is using more than one Facebook account to play 'Lucky Spuds', all accounts will be void from winning. The user will not have permission to participate in the promotion in the event of a dispute, until the Account Holder has personally been in touch with McCain Foods (GB) Ltd. Customer Relations. The return of permission to play will be at the discretion of McCain Foods (GB) Ltd. Customer Relations, subject to investigation of the account.
   6. 2.6  The Promoter does not guarantee continuous uninterrupted or secure access to the website. The Promoter will not be responsible for defects or malfunctions in the operation of the promotional website, however caused, which affect the operation of the promotion.
   7. 2.7  The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not received or incompletely received for any reason. The Promoter will not be responsible for codes damaged or defaced due to the manner in which the product is opened. If you cannot read your promotional code due a genuine printing error, please email us at enquiries@mccainluckyspuds.co.uk and we will help arrange alternative entry. You will need to provide proof of the illegible code.

3. Obtaining & Using the Promotional Codes:

   1. 3.1  Entry codes can be found on the back of promotional packs. Only valid promotional pack codes will be accepted. Each code can only be entered once per day. Manufacturer's references or printing errors do not constitute a valid code.
   2. 3.2  Attempts to enter promotional codes not intended for use in this Promotion or intentionally attempting to subvert the code entry requirements could result in legal action. The Promoter may delete entries if the Promoter has reasonable grounds for believing that the participant has been in breach of the rules of the promotion. The Promoter's decision to ban any consumer from entering is final. The selling or swapping of codes from McCain promotional products is strictly forbidden.
   3. 3.3  Entrants are required to retain the promotional packaging featuring the pack code used to enter, as winners will be required to provide their pack for verification. If a winner is unable to provide a promotional pack that matches the code used to make the winning entry into the Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize entitlement and re-allocate the prize to a reserve winner selected at the same time as the original, in which case the original winner will forfeit any rights to the prize.

4. The Prizes:

   1. 4.1  A total of 58 (fifty eight) prizes will be given away during the promotion:
      
      55 (fifty five) daily prizes of £1,000, between 17.04.12 and 10.06.12 (the 'Daily Prize Draw').
      
      1 (one) grand prize of £100,000 on 10.06.12 (the 'Grand Prize Draw').
      
      1 (one) catch all draw prize of £1,000 on 30.11.12 (the 'Late Entry Draw').
      
      1 (one) Non-Facebook £1,000 prize draw on 10.06.12 (the 'Non-Facebook Prize Draw').
   2. 4.2  One person per household can win a maximum of one £1,000 prize during the promotion. The Promoter will withdraw the prize and re-allocate the prize to a reserve winner selected at the same time as the original in the event that a household has already won a £1,000 prize.
   3. 4.3  Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter, the prize will only be awarded directly to the winner. Prize will be awarded in the form of a cheque to the winner.

5. Daily Prize Draw:

   1. 5.1  There is one £1,000 prize to be won each day during the daily prize draw period. Entries received each day from 17.04.12 until 10.06.12 will be entered into the daily draw for that day. One winner will be independently drawn at random from all entries received by 11.59pm each day. Only complete gameplays will be entered into the daily prize draw. Entries are valid for one daily draw only and will not be carried over to subsequent daily draws.
   2. 5.2  Each participant must register their pack code, found on the back of promotional packs, email address, full name, home address, date of birth and contact phone number and play the online 'Lucky Spuds' game at www.facebook.com/McCainUK.
   3. 5.3  Subject to verification, the winner will be issued with a cheque for £1,000 
   4. 5.4  Winners will be notified by phone within 5 days of each Daily Prize Draw closing.

6. Grand Prize Draw:

   1. 6.1  Every entry received into the Daily Prize Draw from 17.04.12 until 10.06.12 will automatically be entered into the Grand Prize Draw for the chance to win the £100,000 Grand Prize. All gameplays by entrants who previously entered the game via the competition route from 19.03.12 to 16.04.12 will also be entered into the draw.
   2. 6.2  The winner will be independently drawn at random and will be notified within 5 days of the Grand Prize closing date.
   3. 6.3  The winner will receive £100,000 in the form of a cheque

7. Late Entry Draw:

   1. 7.1  All entries received after the Daily Prize Draw closes at midnight on 10.06.12, will be entered into the Late Entry Draw, which closes on 30.11.12.
   2. 7.2  To enter the Late Entry Draw, each participant must register their pack code, found on the back of promotional packs, email address, full name, home address, date of birth and contact phone number at www.facebook.com/McCainUK.
   3. 7.3  The winner of the Late Entry Draw will be independently drawn from all entries received by 30.11.12.

8. Non-Facebook Prize Draw:

   1. 8.1  Participants who do not wish to enter using Facebook can enter the £1,000 non-Facebook Free Prize Draw (the 'Prize Draw') for the chance to win £1,000. There is one £1,000 prize to be won in the Prize Draw.
   2. 8.2  Prize cannot be won by a household who has already won a daily £1,000 prize in the Daily Prize Draw.
   3. 8.3  A maximum of one entry into the Non-Facebook Prize Draw can be made per person during the promotion.
   4. 8.4  To enter the Non-Facebook Prize Draw, each participant must register their pack code (found on the back of promotional packs), email address, full name, home address, date of birth and contact phone number by emailing customer.relations@mccain.co.uk or by writing to us at Customer Relations, McCain Foods (GB) Ltd, Freepost NEA 11518, Scarborough, YO11 3BR.
   5. 8.5  The winner of the Non-Facebook Prize Draw will be independently drawn from all entries received by 10.06.12.

9. Claiming a Prize:

   1. 9.1  Winners will be notified by phone, within 5 days and, subject to verification, will receive their prize by post within 28 days of winning by registered post.
   2. 9.2  All winners will be subject to a verification process where their promotional pack will need to be received and the personal details that were entered into the registration form prior to play, checked against photographic ID, which must include the household address entered to play the game. (If photographic ID has an alternative household listed, discussions will take place with the winner to verify the household address for that person).
   3. 9.3  Winners may be required to participate in related and reasonable publicity and any such requirement will be without further recompense.
   4. 9.4  In the event that the winner does not respond to a winning notification within 28 days of being contacted, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize awarded and re-allocate the prize to a reserve winner selected at the same time as the original, in which case the original winner will forfeit any rights to the prize. No responsibility can be taken for entries, notifications or claims which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason.
   5. 9.5  Unfortunately, unsuccessful entrants cannot be notified.
   6. 9.6  The prize winner's names and counties will be made available by sending an email with the subject "McCain Lucky Spuds" to McCain@bluechipmarketing.co.uk for a period of 3 months after the Promotion closes.

10. Other Important Stuff

    1. 10.1  Any personal data relating to participants will be used in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual's prior consent.
    2. 10.2  By entering the Promotion you consent to the use of your name and the accompanying details on the website at www.facebook.com/McCainUK and in any other promotional activities connected to this Promotion both during and after the Promotion. You grant the Promoter the right to use the information in this way. Information provided in entering the Promotion will otherwise only be used in relation to the administration of the Promotion.
    3. 10.3  All conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law or otherwise in relation to the Promotion are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law and, except as otherwise expressly set out herein, the Promoter and its associated companies shall be under no liability whatsoever in connection with any loss, damage or injury which is suffered as a direct or indirect result of the Promotion or any prize except that the Promoter makes no attempt to exclude or limit its liability for death or personal injury arising as a result of its negligence.
    4. 10.4  This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. You are providing your information to McCain Foods (GB) Ltd., not Facebook. By entering the promotion all participants accept that they have no claim against Facebook whatsoever.
