McCain Smiles with Meatballs and Bolognaise sauce
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 75g white onion, chopped
- 400g lean mince meat
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 15g fine breadcrumbs
- Season with salt and pepper
Bolognaise sauce
- 500g jar bolognaise sauce mix or make your own sauce:
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 2 cloves of finely chopped garlic
How to cook
Preheat the oven to 220C/430F/Gas Mark 7 and bake your Smiles for 12 - 15 minutes alternatively
preheat your grill for 5 minutes at a medium high heat. Grill for 10 minutes turning
every now and again (For more details on cooking instructions see the back of your

Mix all the meatball ingredients together thoroughly in a large bowl. Then form
into small ball shapes. Shallow fry the meatballs for 4 minutes turning regularly.
Mix the bolognaise sauce ingredients together and add the sauce to the meatballs,
simmer on a low heat for 8-10 minutes. Serve with garden peas.
Top Tip - sprinkle grated parmesan on top of your meatballs for an extra tasty meal!
